This month of April, from 13th to 15th, APiS Technology is attending one of the most important events in european beekeeping’s calendar: the Spring Convention and Trade Show BBKA. This event will take place at Harper Adams University, Shropshire, in United Kingdom and it is organized by BBKA (British Beekeepers Association) will have not only a trade show but also several workshops, courses and lectures. These lectures comprehend several topics such as asian hornets, varroa and other diseases, swarms and colonies, different types of hives, beekeeping history among many other interesting themes.

United Kingdom is a crucial market not only for APiS Technology but for every beekeeping equipment supplier, due to honey (and other products) value achieved in trade. Accordingly to a study conducted last year for the House of Commons, entitled “The UK bee population, there are over 30.000 beekeepers managing more than 126.000 beehives, over 250 bee species and their pollinator abilities add more than 600 million euros to the value of UK crops. More recently, has also been in the news the support of UK government to a total ban on all bee-harming pesticides, responsible for the higher bee death rates.

With this participation at Spring Convention BBKA, APiS Technology intends to present not only its solutions to the british beekeepers (B-Hive Monitor, B-App and B-Load) but also to let them know about the research that is going on for new technological solutions and hear directly from them the specific needs they have. Due to its importance, it is also crucial to expand the partners network in United Kingdom and to educate the beekeepers to the significance and value of these new upcoming solutions.
